Hyperfocal Distance Offers Control over Depth of Field
By Carl Mondragon
We have all had photo situations where we needed greater depth of field (DOF), but just couldn't get enough, even if we used the smallest aperture. Two possible photo techniques that can deliver an elegant solution are: 1) shooting the hyperfocal distance and 2) lens tilt. Hyper focal distance is simply a focus offset. You divide the near object plane with the far object plane, creating the hyper focal plane.
