Chromoskedasic Printing by Christina Z. Anderson, May/June 2010

“In my Experimental Photography class, one full lab day was devoted to Sabatier processes based on Jolly’s techniques. In this very wild and crazy lab, 18 students learned traditional and duotone Sabatier… Yet as much traditional and duotone Sabatier had become predictable for me, successful chromo with appreciable plated silver remained elusive… Three serendipitous happenings occurred to change this unpredictability.”

Christina Z. Anderson explains her fascination, exploration, and successful darkroom formula for activating silver and a multitude of colors on normally monochrome black and white paper.

Christina Z. Anderson is an assistant professor and Photo Option Coordinator at the School of Film and Photography, Montana State University, Bozeman, MT. Her area of emphasis is experimental and alternative process photography.
