Moab Reintroduces
Kayenta Photo Matte 205
In response to increasing customer demands, Moab by Legion Paper is re-launching Kayenta Photo Matte 205. Historically one of the company’s most popular papers, the Kayenta line was discontinued in early 2007 shortly after Legion Paper acquired the company. Kayenta Photo Matte is a double-sided, acid- and lignin-free paper that the company says performs well with all current archival pigment ink sets to provide prints with bright whites, deep blacks, and an expanded color gamut. It is well suited for applications in final prints, portfolios, and proofs. Featuring the same surface chemistry as the award-winning Entrada paper line, Kayenta can also be used as a cost-effective proofing surface for the more expensive fine-art Entrada papers.

It is available in a wide-range of 50-sheet boxes, including popular sizes such as 8.5x11, 11x17, 13x19, and 17x22, as well as a new 17x25-inch size developed specifically for digital-sensor formats. Rolls 17- and 24-inches wide by 100-feet long are also offered. (www.moabpaper.com)

Phase One Releases Capture One 4 PRO
Phase One A/S released Capture One
4 PRO Raw workflow software. It is built on a darkroom paradigm, and is designed to satisfy a photographer’s specific work preference and situation. It offers freedom to create custom tool tabs with existing personal toolsets, and to work with multi-monitor setups. The Styles feature has been redesigned to give photographers broader choices in creating unique looks that can be controlled and reproduced. An enhanced Color Editor permits fine-tuning of image colors with precise adjustment tools. Color adjustments can be saved as presets or as customized ICC profiles for consistent reproduction across multiple images. There are also new Lens Correction tools to improve image quality by compensating for undesired lens characteristics. These tools minimize chromatic aberration, purple fringing, distortion, sharpness falloff, and light falloff. They permit creative effects such as image framing with a new vignetting tool. Capture One 4 PRO supports Phase One and Mamiya medium-format cameras and Raw files from a wide range of cameras including: Canon, Epson, Fuji, Konica Minolta, Leica, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, and Sony. (See www.phaseone.com/4 for specific models.)
